No 80hz refresh rate

Hello Everyone,

Maybe it's old news, but I purchased a new monitor that will run at 80hz,(at my gaming res.) but it's nowhere to be found in ccc. Am I missing something? or has it always been this way?Is there a fix it?

Hmm.. Mine, with Cat 6.5 skips from 75Hz - 85Hz.. think it's always been like that
 
in CCC -> Display options -> 3D refresh override -> use same as desktop (if that's what your desktop is set to).

CCC only reflects what your monitor driver tells it that it can use.
 
Many monitors only allow you to select certain refresh rates at certain resolutions. So it might be possible to go to 80hz, just not with your current resolution.
 
Well, just got off the phone with Viewsonic, and 1280x1024 is indeed the recomended res with 80hz for refresh. I am also running the monitor driver(s) but still no 80hz :confused:

I know how to hack custom refresh rates into the nV drivers, but not ATI's. Have you checked out the Omega Drivers? They have a lot of "non-standard" resolutions and refresh rates enabled. Barring that, try a util called PowerStrip. It will let you assign custom resolutions and refresh rates.
 
80 is not commonly found in a standard set of reolution/refresh. Powerstrip is where it's at.
 
Have you upgraded your monitor driver? To my knowledge monitor drivers tell your system what resolutions and refresh rates your monitor supports. If you have plug and play drivers installed on your monitor, maybe thats the prob?
