a friend of mine has suddenly gotten something virusy...a bunch of instances of "nilm.exe" keep popping up on her randomly and whenever they do "csrss.exe" skyrockets in cpu usage. ad-aware has had no effect. And some other spysweeper tool is not doing anything to it either. Wasn't sure where to post this so i'll just try here. Anyone know what these thigns are?

Restart the comp in safe mode

start, run, regedit

control+f

type in nilm

find all instances and delete (press f3 to search again)

start, find, files/folders

type in nilm

delete the files on the comp.

Should be okay after that

my friend's not exactly computer literate, so I woulddn't trust her fiddling with the registry alone. In the end we figured out that there was a licence manager from a pre-installed program (she has a T30 from the school we go to) that was getting some error when trying to scan for some sort of license...it was a useless program (to her anyway) so uninstalling it worked out fine. Thanks for the tip though.
