An ISP I have an account with posted this:

It's not specific to their service - or cloud storage at all - just a nice, simple rsync backup HOWTO that actually includes the ssh key and crontab steps.

I've done this hundreds of times now, but I remember having trouble with the ssh-keygen steps the first time I did it, since every single howto just assumed you knew how to do that.

Anyway, hope it helps.
