nice slot cooler!

  • Performance (ambient and graphics card) is not significant
  • Expensive for performance yielded

Those are two pretty big cons. Especially for the price.

If you take a single fan slot cooler and remove the fan, you will see better cooling for your card then that thing does with two fans.
 
3C less is not that much in my eyes, but it still looks cool :D
 
for an SLI setup though, you can angle that second fan right on the MOSFET sink... looks like it might still be pretty useful even though that reviewer did seem to think so. I guess it depends on the application. I saw that adjustable fan and though it would be great for a mosfet sink.

I generally think of slot fans as just getting air moving on my hot video card.. like the Vantec I have doesn't do anything with the outside air, so this one lowering ambient temps at all is a bonus, imo.

EDIT: it is a little pricy right now, though... you're right... it'll come down after time... :)
