I'm looking for a PSU that is reliable, and a fairly high wattage (upper 400-lower 500) that looks nice, instead of being a boring grey box. Its going in a clear case, so I want it to be nice looking. I read through some of the brands on the "do not buy" list, and those seem to be all the ones that have lights and such. Any suggestions?

A clear acrylic case you say? Modular cabling would probably be of good use there. Blue LED lighting too.

OCZ Modstream 450W

Oh yeah, the amount of watts you see these days is irrelevant.

yeh the supplies with al the bells and whistles do tend to be the cheap seats when it comes to power quality, your paying for the bling bling not the wider operating range, top shelf components, tighter regulation and better filtering.

OZC Powerstreams have a nice (and functional) Titanium Plate finish (reduced EMF emissions) and generally speaking a better crossload profile than the Modstreams
a higher quality supply that exceeds spec

The Antec Neopower also exceeds spec and is modular

most of the time I recommend getting the best power quality you can and modding the bling bling in yourself, you can actually do a better job of it with a few tools and supplies.

you can have the wiring harness exactly the right length, upgrade the pins from zinc plated to gold for lower resistance, shield and ground the wire leads lowering EMF, improve the thermal solution for the supply lowering its temperature and sound signiture, upgrade the molex connectors, "shape" the harness ect.

Don't get it at newegg. Their prices are outrageously high. Get it from monarch. Only $59AR instead of $86 at the egg. Monarch also answers their phone and replies to email unlike newegg.
