The computer will be used for basic use such as work... etc maybe a little gaming like cs but thats really it and I know this cpu has had room for overclocking :D but, It porbably wont be oc for 2 years.

Well, hows it look?

Maybe will run Suse 9.1 linux or Gentoo.

Samsung don't make that good HDs, get a Seagate instead with SATA, those are excellent drives. Also double your RAM, you will need the extra RAM.

If CS is your max gaming, you can go with an XP to save some money, won't be too much of a loss either. And get some more RAM, 512 minimal.

Samsung's drives are getting pretty good reviews here lately, and they are known for their near silence. I would still go with Seagate though.

Yeah go with seagate, they have a 5 year warranty.

Exactly. Compared to Samsung's 3years on their retail drives. IMO Seagate are the best you can buy, I havent had a Seagate fail on me yet, and I have used both SATA, SCA and ATA drives.

Actually 160 Samsung is on of the highest performing Sata 7200 rpm drive. I use mostly samsung drives and out of 90 or so drives I had 1 fail. To be honest with you I would get a Maxtor SATA with 16 Meg cache special edition. Although Seagate is very good and I have nothing bad to say about them.

You will definately need more RAM. You need at least 512 to run XP well, not to mention play games with it. You may also want to buy a better proccessor, maybe a 2.8, but if you can't afford it then... well don't worry about it. But it would go nicely with that vid card.
Oh and I have no objections with the Samsung drive :) .

just be sure you have fans blowing on ur sata drives... those seagate drives get HOT ( i have a 7200 rpm barracuda, and a piece of it melted...)

Just came in to say that I've had no problems with my 160GB Samsung HDD. I only can compair it with confidence to a 120GB WD 8MB cach drive and I think the Samsung is great. It is quieter and produces less heat. I use it moastly for starage, so I can't comment on the speed.

On topic, those specs look fine.
