NIC only showing Local Area Connection?

I'm hoping someone has the answer to my question. I just replaced a dead PCI Network Card but after I installed the drivers that came with it all that shows in Network Connections is one icon: Local Area Connection. (This is in Windows XP). It looks like something is corrupt but network stuff is my weak spot so I don't know.

Anyway, aren't there supposed to be more icons in Network Connections like Lan or High Speed internet connections?

That's normal. If you only have one NIC and no wireless and no firewire, you should only see one icon.
