Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm planing on putting a Intel NIC card in my system and the two I was looking at has a pci or pci-e interface. I was wondering if there's a different in performance between pci and pci-e as far as NIC cards is concern.
I haven't noticed a difference moving from an Intel PCI card to an Intel PCI Express card on a gigabit home network. Assuming a gigabit network (1000Mb), the maximum theoretical transfer rate is 125MB/s. Base PCI provides a bandwidth of 133MB/s. If you want dual connections, then it may make a difference but you could still be limited by hard drive speed (on the receiving or sending end).
Yes, you can use that PCI NIC since you have only an LGA 775 system.
Now if you were to upgrade to an LGA 1155 (Sandy Bridge) system or newer, I wouldn't recommend using a PCI NIC on such a system that lacks native PCI support (but instead uses a PCI-e to PCI bridge): Tests have shown that a PCI Intel NIC used in such a system performed only about half as fast as it should have.
