nic card without a driver in windows 98

i tried installing a nic card in my machine i just got it used for a little fun it may eventually be a server box for my other 3 computers. but anyway i am running windows 98 and it said that the card has no drivers and the combo modem/nic card already in it is junk and doesn't work. is it just the os being anal or is it my nic card acting up? help!

Without drivers hardware will not work with an Operating System. If 98 says it doesn't have a driver for it then it doesn't have a driver for it. Go to the website of the card or google the card model and add the keyword driver, download it and install it.
