Its only your opinion, and i respect it. Some drivers work best than others in certain system configurations, nobody is making you use the drivers. BTW these are still betas so some issues might occur.

Dont knock them if you havent tried them. Pull your blinders off and give them a try. You might be surprised. My aquamark score increased by 300 when I changed, not bad for the few minutes it takes to uninstall the ati and reinstall the NGO drivers. Even if you dont get the performance increase the layout and controls are second to none, making for simple easy to use access to all of your video tweaks and adjustments. Like Mainman said they are beta so you could have issues, and performance may vary from system to system. That said I have ran hl2, doom3, call of duty, medal of honor, and several others with absolutely no issues what so ever.

Ive tried all these drivers with tweaks in them, DNA, Omega, Dhzeropoint, and these NGO drivers. the 5fps extra I get isnt worth the stability I could possibly loose with ATi drivers. Im sure that the tweaks these guys enabled in their custom drivers ATI had disabled for a good reason.

No offense, but 300 Aquamarks isn't much of an increase when one has a card that gets a score of 30,000 or more. If I remember right, my X800XL gets something like 59,000 or 60,000. 300 isn't even a 1% increase.

Add that to the fact that an increase in a benchmark often doesn't equate to an increase in game performance. I'd rather lose the less-than-1% increase and stick with the stock drivers. I never understand why people claim any driver revision (from hardware vendor or driver-modder) is so awesome because it raised their 3DMark/AquaMark/Bungholiomark scores by a hundred points or so, when it rarely changes their game performance by more than 1-2fps up or down, if at all.
