NFSMW PC controller issue

in NFSMW, i have a USB-> PS2 adaptor so I can use my PS2 controller to play. When i set my buttons, everything works fine (im choosing accelerate, brake, etc..). I do a quick play and nothing work on the controller. The keyboard works, but not the controller. Is there an option to select between joystick and keyboard or what? thanks.
 
Are you saying the quick play option causes this?

I don't think I really use that choice, but I have zero issues with my PS2 console controller to USB and NFS:MW. That's why I ask.

How long have you been using this thing? I don't know if you just got it. The analog light must be lit for my games. Maybe you too.
 
when i choose quick play and want to race, and i hit the accelerate button that i chose in the options, the car does nothing..nothing happens when i press ANY of the buttons, its like the controller isnt even there but when i use the keybaord everything works.
 
Ok, but can you use it in any other thing. I'm trying to figure out if the problem is isolated to Quick race, which I'd have to fire up the game:D, or is it in general? In the case of the latter, somethings wrong. Because mine works fine.

Again too did you just get it? Do we know the unit works in other games?

edit: Alright god damn it! If I play NFS until 3 o'clock it's all your fault! I'll see if quick race works. :p
 
Alright, so as I expected it's the same for me.... Quick race or not. Just mentioning Quick race in both of your posts I didn't know if that was pertinent. Sorry to ask you another thing again, but are you sure you have the analog button, so that the red LED in the middle of the controller is set to ON? Set it to whatever works. Toggle it.

It is odd that you could set your controls but not use them since it should be registering then. You did set it up right? Press the arrow next to keyboards and it will flip to controller to set those in the control panel. As far as I know, they are both always on. You are just toggling the controls you are setting. It is a rare game that sets its self up immediately but man would that be nice. I remember Tony Hawk 3 playing exactly like PS2 immediately. Lately not so much. :(
