NFS:UG 2 demo out!

Anyone care to tell if its worth the bandwidth? I have NFS:U... is anything really different thats worth dling the demo for?
 
WOW! This game is soooo much better than the original :D Whooooo! Finaly a good PC racer hehe Im gonna go play some more! Deff worth the DL

How does it run on your system? What res/ and quality settings you running?
 
I'm getting 20 KB/s on EA. I guess their servers are jammed. I'm going to look for it somewhere else.

Im running 16x12 4xaa 8xaf highest details, no light blurring/motion blurring ( looks so much better w/o it ) im getting a good 80-100fps

Great, now I have to decide whether to get this for the PC or the Xbox. I think I'll just hook up my Xbox controller to the PC. :cool:

Wow, its everything I wanted in NFSU. Roaming is cool.

Too bad EA sucks at building cars, all 4 are hideous. The Z in my opinion is not a car that needs all that bling-blingage. Would have been nice to been able to build my own without the monsturous spoilers and stickers on the sides, not to mention the "OMG SPINNAZ"

I did like the music though, nice to see some techno back in NFSU2, getting back to NFS roots. However, that rap menu song was obnoxious. And scanning through controls, I see keys to start/stop hydraulics. :rolleyes:

Yes but bling sells. Bling is fast y0! Bling + civic = win over ferrari! F1 cars even y0! Bling bling! :p And yeah (c)rap music makes me want to kill people at random because its so F'IN annoying!!! U wanna tell a story? Write a book instead of swearing up a storm of worthless shit! :p

I agree, the cars EA built were 100% trash. Cant wait to hook my own up :D
 
Hmmm that was weird. Went into free roam, couldn't see anything but lightsources... It looked as though i was seeing everything through a REALLLLLLY dark tinted window... whats up with that. Didn't have time to mess around with the settings....

Its from having level of detail up too high, It has to be below halfway on the slider.
EA should have grayed the setting out. My theroy is by keeping the dl size small, EA didn't include high res textures, so when you enable them the engine uses black.
 
Wow this game SUCKS ASS compared to the original. I have a system as fast as the new Athlon 4000+s and my graphics card is OCed faster than a 6800 ultra and at 1024x768 NO AA or AF with high detail I spotted a few times where it dipped below 30fps. Keep in mind this is a system that scores 13k 3dmarks in 2k3 and the games graphics are pretty crappy except for the cars.

And if you have a wheel and play this game, damn you are going to hate it. The car barely steers when I move the wheel all the way, even as low as 40mph the thing steers like a snail. And I use the most used steering wheel, the MS FF Wheel so there is no excuse for that. And like in Need For Speed HP2, they will never ever fix it so they already lost a customer, and I was ready to blindly purchase this game.

When god, when will EA ever realise that Porsche Unleashed was their best NFS game and just build a clone of that???

turn off light trails, helps dramatically. also i noticed a strange bug where it looked like i was looking through my cars, went away when turning off light trails.

general driving

takin with system in sig, light trails off, 1600x1200, with everything maxed. oh and the music... sucks. i've already made a need for speed playlist, and it plays right over the game too. i'm gonna be havin fun tonight!

Agreed this game blows worse tham Ashlee Simson, the original is far better.

I donno, i think its better than the first by miles :D Controls dont feel as loose....plus im using a PS2 controller, so its a bit easier.
 
Downloading, cant wait to play this.

I'm probably gonna get one of thoes logitech imitation ps2 controllers, my 7.99 destroyer tilt probably doesn't have enough buttons for the hydrolics :p

I have everything else maxed, but if I turn on anti-aliasing, everything was black except for the rear view mirror.
 
Anyone had any luck in getting a gamepad to work with this demo?

I can't seem to get the controls to switch to gamepad from keyboard or detect my gamepad.

You have to set the controls to 'joystick' instead of keybaord on the top.

Reread what I said, I can't get it to change from Keyboard to Gamepad.

Is there a special way to do it?
 
*cough*midnightclubripoff*cough* :). I think this one is better than the original since it gives you something to do once you've actually beat the game. I'm still sad though that they still kept those drift crap in the game. I really hated the drift challenges in the first one and I'm probably gonna hate it in this one, but I'll still buy it (like i do all NFS games since the very first one :/).

Performance is surprisingly low at 1024x768 with full AA and AF on with my setup. Old one no matter what i put my settings to, just couldnt stress game to the point fps wasnt averaging 60.

If you're using an ati card, I am using the omegas based off 8.07s and aa works ok for me.

Yeah, it's ugly.

Its too bad, they put something desireable in pretty much every car.
The "green one" has the best rims, the silver has the best body, the red has the best exhaust, but the yellow really has nothing going for it.
I actually think I might have liked it the best if it didn't have the protrusions sticking out of the body, the bumpers would be plain without them, which wouldn't look that bad.

On with the full version with the Evo VIII, WRX, and Supra!
