i will be building a new PC and i wanted to go with ATI R520 but when hearing this not too shabby news i think i should build a machine on 7800GT and then maybe go with r580 when it'll come out next year..so my question is, i dont wanna buy a new motherboard with every card i get, i guess u know where i'm going with this....will ATI card be compatible with nForce motherboard?
thanks

should be but you got a long wait on that R520 let alone any thing after it imo get the 7800GT now new has a great deal on a eVGA with a free nForce4 SLi mobo

thank you guys for your replies and links to the deal...it is a great deal but the thing is i don't think i wanna go SLI.....the price is still low..but when i want to upgrade in the future i will have to upgrade both motherboard and video card, which i would like to avoid... but on the other hand when i wish to upgrade when r580 will come out i would want to probably change the motheboard anyway....OMG the technology is so confusing...any more suggestion to confused noob?

PCI-express probably isn't going anywhere for the next few years. It was designed with room to grow. The R580 will most likely be PCI-e when it comes out and the Crossfire cards are all PCI-e.

I believe ATI Crossfire cards work on any SLI capable board. If you're going Intel they have their own SLI capable chipset also if you're that concerned with compatability.

yes, this is exactly what i needed...so i guess i can go with that evga special thingy set-up...and i'm not going with intel this time.. i'll try athlon for a change...thanks

Doing this upsets the nvidia soldiers in your motherboard who may promptly fry your ATi card. Trust me I know, it happenned to me once.
