Nforce4 and Maxtor corruption / slow boot

I'm looking to upgrade my old AGP AV8 to a PCIe NF4, only I have all Maxtor 300Gb drives. I've read about people having data corruption and slow booting problems depending on the HDD bios version. So please speak up if you use a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 NCQ (300GB) 6L300S0 SATA hard drive and any NF4 based board.

I have DiamondMax 10 250GB SATA HD and EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra (NF4 Ultra chipset) and my computer does boot very slowly sometimes. Actually I was searching on the forum why is that right now.

Computer is 2 weeks old and I have installed all drivers. What's most confusing me is that slow boot don't occurs always, it's random thing.?? (slow boot takes ~5 minutes!!!!)

Could you give me more info on what you heard?
 
thanks for the info! i have a 250gb i upgraded to some 8.12 beta drivers which have been doing well but i dunno its starting to hang again. :(
