Hello,

This is my first AMD rig, and first time using the onboard audio. People speak highly of the NForce2 onboard sound but I am having a crazy ass time trying to get it to work properly.

I have a Shuttle MN31N motherboard and am just trying to get rid of the hissing. What are the tricks to get the onboard sound to sound average and not like a Sound Blaster Value card??

Help is appreciated.

Still have that hissing man. I have no idea what it is. I tried changing the settings around but no luck.
 
You are using the analog outputs, yes? If so, you aren't using the Sountstorm components of the audio solution. Figure out what analog audio solution you mobo manufacturer put on your board.
