I just installed new mobo processor and video card.

AMD 64 3000+ winchester
DFI lan party nf4 ultra-d
ATI x800xl

The problem that seems to be occuring is no matter when I install the nforce 4 drivers my system does not want to boot up correctly.

I tried doing all of the windows updates first then installing the nforce drivers no luck. I tried the drivers off of the mobo cd and the newest one off the nvidia website.

It seems to be the IDE driver that is the culprit. I am not for certain but I tried installing the drivers minus the ide and the computer seemed to boot just fine.

when i tried the nvidia 6.53 drivers i could no longer boot my computer in any mode, safe or in the last known good setting.

Some insight would be greatly apreciated as I am at a loss on what the problem is.

which bios ver are u using? I have identical setup as you

i have no floppy. is there a detailed walkthrough on how to flash the bios somewhere while logged on?

I read the winflash guide but it seems to be vague on what i need to do specifically.

Ya i read that guide and it was not clear enough on what i needed to do.

I'm not sure which block(s) i need to update.

the file i need to open is the nf4ld310 bin file correct?

man i miss my msi almost when it comes to this flashing buisness.

File, Update, thats it, it'll do all the blocks for you, just make sure you dont have anything BUT windows and this program running.

do not power off or restart while in process.

what would the bios say at the top if i had the newest one installed?

it says v6.00pg after i flashed

6.00PG refers to the Award BIOS code which the boards BIOS is based on. This will not vary between bios revisions.

Some Bioses do tell you which version it is. Some use a string of characters along the bottom of the boot screen.

Can't help you any further with your problems - I've had no problems with the Nvidia drivers with my A8N-SLI. Will try NCQ tomorrow with my Seagate HD.

The Nvidia firewall software is very buggy.
