nforce 3 mb to nforce 4 mb delete drivers?

I am switching from an nforce 3 mb to an nforce 4 mb. Can I just delete the nforce 3 drivers, install the board and then install the nforce 4 drivers?

Really got things the way I like them and don't want to reformat plus my cdburner just took a crap so no backup trick available.
