so my friend is getting a nfs-7 motherboard, 2500+ Barton, 512 DDR ram, and is using a HDD that he had previously installed in his mother's computer. What do we have to do? after you physically build the system and boot with the WD boot disc (i assume it comes with one as my seagate did) then the boot disc will tell us to install windows xp but i was wondering whether everything will be taken care of by the motherboard/BIOS. I am concerned simply because i read somewhere recently that you have to make your BIOS recognize your processor speed automatically or else it will burn up or something like that. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Oh, and what about reformatting that HD, how do you go about doing that? Do you do the format while it is in the old computer? Does all a format do is completely clear the HD?
