nf4 onboard vs nf2 onboard

Depends which nf2 southbridge you're talking about. nf4 just uses regular generic ac'97 sound, just like pretty much every motherboard in the past forever. nf2's MCP-T had a real apu in the league of the original audigy. Regular MCP's just had ac'97 as well.
 
in terms of soundquality, if you are running ss through digital output on ur nf2 then it really comes down to the DACs on your reciever/decoder
