NF4 IDE Crash

I have 4 hard drives: 3 SATA Seagates and 1 200GB PATA Maxtor. Whenever I connect the Maxtor, my computer blue screens during windows startup (MACHINE_CHECK_ERROR), and restarts itself about 5 seconds after the blue screen.
I only have this problem when I connect the PATA Maxtor. I have tested this drive in other systems and in my external USB enclosure and it works just fine. Obviously, my OS is not loaded on this drive either.

I have a DFI NF4 SLI DR motherboard running the latest NF4 chipset drivers.
Anyone else have this problem, or a solution to it?
I am thinking that it has something to do with the NF4 IDE controller.
 
Same problem. It works perfect when I connect it after windows starts up. I thought I fixed it by setting it from auto/lba to Large because it booted fine I tried a restart and it blue screened. It's a 160GB WD 8MB. I am going to try a few things tonight and see if I can get it working.
 
If i uninstall the drivers for the NVIDIA nForce4 Parallell ATA Controller, do you think that will take care of the problem?

My only question is, now that i don't have the IDE driver installed, will DMA still work?
I am guessing that it would since the whole concept is for it to be hardware based.. but just wanted to make sure.
