I have some Evercool AL12025 aluminum 120mm fans. Can these run off my Nexus fan controller? Vantec says not to use variable-speed fans on the thing, but I can't get much solid info on the fans to save my life.

the guts of the fan are the same as any other fan so as long as the fan controller has enough power for the fan (and it should) it will work fine

i also don't see that the fans are variable speed they seem to be just aluminium case fans

specs i get are for part # AL12025-4LD2-63

Dimension: 120x120x25mm
Speed: 2200RPM
Airflow: 79.2CFM
Noise: 12dBA
Voltage: 12

hmmm specs on the box state that it is 3 speed (all 3 at 12v????), yet draws .25a at 1800rpm, .28a at 2000 rpm and .33a at 2200rpm's. It shows 71.09/79.14/84.76cfm at the respective RPM's and states that 24v is available. Also, they're rated at <39db's at full tilt. On the fan itself, it says model #EC12025M12CA DC12v .28A 3.36W.

Since the Nexus says it can do 18W/channel, should I just go with it and not worry?
