Anybody else experiencing issues with their GPS in google maps? Mine "loses GPS signal" after about 5 minutes... sometimes it comes back, most of the time it doesn't. When it does come back, it's not accurate at all, and it usually misunderstands my location and recalculates. I haven't been able to navigate anywhere in the last couple months.

There's a 30 page support thread here, but all Google is offering is ways to test it, none of which seem conclusive.

Anybody RMA a phone directly to Google before?

After lots of research, it seems as though batches with S/N starting with 310 or 311 have a particularly high rate of GPS failure like this. Other batches can have the issue, but it's most common with these S/N's. The issue seems to be a bad antenna connection, which is a hardware issue. People have tried reconnecting it themselves, but the problem persists. So, an RMA seems to be the only solution.

BTW, +1 for Google support. I talked with somebody who seemed to know the phone inside and out. They had some basic troubleshooting tips, but weren't able to solve it, so they ended up just giving me an RMA. Even though the tips were basic, they didn't make me turn it on and off again with them on the other line *cough* *COMCRAP* *cough*, and I appreciated their effort. Everything was quick and easy, and they're even cross-shipping a device so I don't need to be without a phone. It was a great experience.
