Hello every one, Its time for me to upgrade my video card once more (mainly because I have the cash now). I have had this Awsome 9700np for over 2 years now and I think its time to upgrade :)

Now I was looking at.

X800XL and the X800XT AIW. (still AGP)
The X800XT AIW has a 50$ MIR at Newegg, yet it ends the 31st of this month so I am kinda pressed for time.
While the X800XL Will continue to lower in price as the weeks go on (atleast I hope).

If some of you could provide some insite I would be very grateful.
 
Get the X800 XT AIW.
The video in functionality is not the greatest compared to stand alone PCI TV tuners, but if
you feel the need to digitize and burn your home movies onto DVD it will work.
 
Another vote for the AIW XT. I think it's clocked higher, and you get all that vivo and tv tuner functions.

Well from the reviews, it shows X800 Pro is a BIT better in some cases than X800XL, and the X800XT Is better than the X800 Pro. So I am just guessing that the X800XT AIW > X800XL even if its just 10 FPS. And I do want some TV capture card, since I have a very crappy 13" tv I would rather play it on my monitor, in a window :)

Any more feedback?

But he's only going to have AGP = bigger wait. He's most likely CPU limited already.

Around the corner could be Q4 this year with a price tag of 700$ For the AGP Version :(

Lol, prices always go down the longer you wait :p

Like I said, the 50$ Rebate offer ends the 5/31st so I dont know if I should jump on the offer or let it slide and HOPE another good one comes along soon :rolleyes:
 
save the money upgrade ur mobo, cpu and get a lower end pci-e like 6600gt or just get an agp 6600gt and save up for ur next jump.

Makes no sense. That would cost him much more than a simple video card upgrade. He'll be fine by simply buying a X800XT of some sort and waiting longer for his next full leap.

I have gone through 3 formats and 2 motherboards to come to this point, no way am I going to fork out any more money on a new motherboard and a new cpu just for PCI-E.

Also on ebay they have X800XT AIW for about 300USD but ebay is a russian roulette.
And why people may be wondering why I am looking at AIW rather than just normal XT.
The X800XT AIW seem to be cheaper than the regular XTs. Maybe im just looking in the wrong place, so correct me if I am wrong here....

And as stated before, I would love to get the next graphics card line R520 and G70, except I doubt they are coming out this summer, and I dont think they are going to be within a reasonable price range atleast for a few months....

Get the X800XT AIW. You'll be EXTREMELY happy, and it'll be an amazing boost over your current 9700.

Any boost I would love, trying to overclock this card past 340/310 with the crappy 3.3 infeneon ram causes artifacts of every flavor :D


Now just to look for a ATI silencer that fits on the X800XT AIW (just for browsing reasons).
If any one knows of any that have Confirmed of a 3rd Party cooler that fits and works on X800XT AIW and does a rather effective job please say so!!!!!!!!

Also I am still open to any suggestions!

Thats what I am doing, but man the source games are the killers, I can do with 40fps. But on some huge maps 20fps just gets to you mentally.

im with saturnine2, only reason why is cause first, a 9700 pro will last a few more months (obviously) and when new gen cards come out, down will the prices go for last gen cards :D

I went from a 9700 Pro in the main rig with a Geforce Ti 4600 in the LAN. To a X800XL in the main to the 9700 Pro in the LAN, and now I'm finally replacing the old 9700 Pro with a 6800nu that fully unlocks and OCs to almost 6800GT speeds. I love my mixture, allows me to get the best of both companies.
