I have to buy a Xeon...anybody know or at least has an idea of when the next price drop will take place?
 
Intel has a big drop scheduled for August of this year (the Socket478 Fire Sale). Practically *all* the Northwood-Cs and S478 Prescotts will be either fire-sale priced or JPDed (Just Plain Dropped).

Later *this* month, the first LGA775 motherboards and processors will appear (early-bird TCWO is already advertising them in both MaximumPC and PC Gamer). Leading off will be (of course) Intel, with no less than *four* LGA models, all of which will use the BTX formfactor, have multiple PCI Express slots, and *no* AGP slots whatever.

If Intel gets it's way, AGP 8x is in big, big *trouble*....
 
Oh man...I got pumped looking at that price list until I realized that $218 3.2E chip was the Prescott and not the Extreme Edition. Damned eyes!
