so im getting the upgrade itch, and my current PC is in my sig. so i was thinking of the following.

Either getting a GTX 770
or
New Haswell Chip and motherboard, and just reuse my memory, GTX 660 and other parts. any input or suggestions would help greatly.
 
I don't see why you would upgrade a 2500k to a Haswell? The GTX 770 I think would be a much better upgrade.

Yes, I have stuck with my 2600k right now, while there are some slight performance increases with the Haswell, it doesn't really make anything I do better. While upgrading my graphics card first from the AMD 6950 to the GTX690 was a vast improvement and going from the GTX690 to 2x Titans was significant as well. For games, upgrading the GPU is generally going to be your best bet for real performance increase.
 
Neither option is really that good. Haswell just isn't fast enough to justify the upgrade costs over your current 2500K. At most, you're looking at a 3% performance increase.

As for the GTX 770 route, you're looking at a 20% to 22% performance increase. $400 for a 20% performance increase? To me that's not worth it. If you really want an upgrade, get a SSD like the Samsung 840 250 or Samsung 840 Pro 256GB. Either SSD will provide a more noticeable performance increase and system responsiveness than either of the options you've mentioned.

A SSD won't increase your FPS but it would dramatically speed up your load times and system responsiveness.
 
i was more concerned about loading textures, because i have a high rez pack for new vegas and i noticed sometimes it take a second or two for it to catch up, would an SSD help that?
