I read somewhere that new 7200 RPM SATA-II 16MB cache hard drives are due out sometime this year. Does anyone have any information on when, who, new features list, expected price, etc.? Since I am going to be needing a new hard drive very soon, I just want to know, if I should wait a little. I mean, if the new drives are due out Q2 of this year, then I would wait a couple months. On the other hand, if they are not due out until Q4 of this year or early next year, then I would not want to wait. Anyone with any information please post, or if you know where to find this kind of information, please let us know. Thanks.

I don't know how hard drive manufacturers could effectively use a 16 MB cache, first of all. Secondly, I haven't heard of any news regarding a Serial ATA II introduction this year. Maybe your source had a little wishful thinking going on? I'm not saying that I'm right and the source is wrong...just don't get your hopes up.
