Next Gen Console Vs Pc Hardware DILEMMA!!!?

Am i going to be able to brag about pcs having higher res/detail than consoles (ie like we could do to the xbox,ps2 and gamecube owners when those consoles first came out) i loved bragging on how the graphics on unreal tournament were way better on pc than on ps2, also how ut2003 was way better on pc than on xbox. will i be able to do the same this time round or am i going to be well and truly pissed off and have to buy all the next gen hardware to even slightly compete? I hope not because the specs that are floating about for the nextgen consoles seem unbeleivable if they are going to sell them at around the £300 mark. am i going to be driven to buying an xbox2 for a fraction of the price of a pc, stripping the processor out of it and plonking it in pc? Will i blow £400 on the next gen graphics card or am i gonna get a nexgen console that will probably be cheaper for all my entertainment needs? Will i be torn away from Pcs leaving it in a dusty corner only to be used for office work and dvd burning?Help Meeeeeeee put my mind at rest!!!!!!!!!!!!? :eek:....... :confused: .......... :eek: :eek: !!!!!
 
well...for a while yes the console will probably look better than pc gaming.
BUT a pc you can always do a lot more than what a console can do. And like everything else, technology will keep advancing to make a game look more "real" and there is where a console will be limited on "headroom"

Consoles are only computers, console game developpers just have to learn how to make games for PC instead of using some stupid kit derived from C++.
Having a better console is just like saying that I have a better computer than yours. The only difference is the games. But seriously, you saw the preview of madden right? Not all the game will be like this, it takes a lot of time producing. Just like Black & White 2, HL2, D3...It's all the same.
 
I liked it when i could convert console worshipers into buying a pc for gaming when they saw how detailed/high res they could be, it was easy on the last 2 generations of consoles!!

You must have been in this situation though.... your mate has a game on the console saying how good it was, and you said "thats nothing, you wanna see the same game on my PC!" come on guys i cant be the only one that has done this surely!!?
 
The only thing that will shit me in this area is the console exclusives (ala Halo etc) that PCs dont see until 6 months later. I could care less about how good the games look - I mean, look how quickly you get accustomed to doom3 graphics for example.Ho hum. Next gen consoles will be no different.

Its all about gameplay - hence having to wait while consoles get all the joy first is extremely frustrating... :mad: :mad:
 
Computers will excel consoles 6 months after they are release, and match them the date they come out, at stock. This doesnt factor in overclocking, which we have the upper hand in. ALl consoles are, is a medium-to high end computer at one point in time, that never gets upgraded.
