Hey guys you know when the next gen cards are going to be released? just wondering so i know how long i have to wait, i sold my 9700pro and using a crappy 9000aiw pro now :\ I wanna get a 9800xt when the next gen cards drop its price, so when will that be :D
 
I don't think anyone here really knows for sure. Unless of course there is someone on the inside for either of the two big companies...which I doubt. So to answer your question, we don't know.

However, stabs have been taken at Q1-2 of 2004 so assumptions and guesses point to sometime soon, for what they are worth. :)
 
I'm hearing rumors of Q3 of 2004 for the next chipset... My 9500pro is 100 fps on everything, including my hl2 beta and d3 demo...

Im waiting for PCI Express to upgrade :)

The new ATI card has already been released to the manufacturers, or so I have heard, so it should be within a few months, hopefully :p
 
follow the 6 month cycle.... figure march/april is fairly likely.

standard issue is march/april for new tech, and late october/early-mid november for card refreshes.

no, but alternatively you can post more threads about release dates, specs of cards 6 months off, driver optimizations, and asking which card is the best in a given category.

i've heard, granted this is only heresay, that god gives triple kitten kill points if you mention all of those in the same thread. ;)

BTW, I hope the prices drop before July, my Ti4400 just went to shit, and now I'm stuck with a FX 5200. Won't be able to afford better until July.

damnit I Cant last with this damn videocard!!! i cant play many games well and farcry runs like a$$ im thinkin of a sapphire 9600XT for 200CAD, :\ then sell it later and grab a 9800xt when the price shoots down from the next gen cards.
 
Well you can count on them being out in the spring and, then up dated models near Christmas for Seasons Greedings.
