I was looking around for a new 23-24" LCD that is comparable to my PVA LG L246WP but more updated. I have come to find that I dislike TN panels and was thinking about the Dell U2410 but thats out of my price range. Any help?

I like accurate vibrant color.

The NEC EA231WMi should be right up your alley. It's an E-IPS panel with very low input lag, >10ms. Should be around $330-360 depending on where you look.

Hope you don't mind if I tag onto this. I have the same LG monitor, and I've been really pleased with it. However it is getting kind of old and is having some burn in problems. Something with slightly faster response time would be nice too. The E-IPS panel has a slow response time. Are there any other monitors that are 24" and compare in color to the LG?

6ms is the fastest on an ips you'll find.

How is your LG PVA panel faster than an 6 ms IPS panel?

PVA is known to have the slowest response time out of all LCD techs.

I was referring to the suggested NEC EA231WMi. Newegg lists it with a 14ms response time.

I saw the HP LP2475w IPS panel, but am I going to notice an 2ms difference?

Beware of the NEC. I just got it and I don't like it very much. Mostly because its black rendering is.. well, not very black. I'd rather have a PVA panel but then again my ratio of graphics to text usage time is about 50/50 so I care about crisp text and you only get crisp text when your black level is nice and deep. And it ain't all that with the NEC 231 WMi.

I've read that people are having backlight uniformity issues with the NEC EA231WMi which cause different color variation going from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen. The result is more or less boils down to color tones.

If the approximate $550 for the Dell U2410 is too expensive, then unfortunately I don't have a monitor recommendation.

I think you would be happy with the ea231wmi. It is a great monitor. I personally hate PVA for the black crush issue. I had one of these necs it was great just decided to sell it and get a u2410 instead. I wanted the higher resolution. Will be ordering it at the end of the week.

I would like the EA231WMI but the appearence of it (Looks) are just so ugly in my opinion.
