Anyone know if the current stock on Newegg is G0? How are the steppings comming out of there laterly in the last month or so?
 
I ordered my Q6600 on 10/01, and got the B3 stepping. It seems to be a crap shoot with Newegg. If you want to be guaranteed a G0 stepping, ClubIT is the way to go.
 
I'd recommend ordering from tankguys.com, they are not only shipping G0 steppings, but there also let you know what week your chip will be. Its handy in that it allows you to google how well that "week" will OC.

I checked Tank Guys they're backordered atm.

So I'm hearing the next best bet would be clubIT?
 
I got a G0 from newegg 2 weeks ago. I have the worst luck when buying cpu's as I always end up getting a batch or stepping that sucked so I was surprised when I opened up the box. I thought that was all newegg had by now.
 
FYI, all E6750's are G0's as are all Q6700's.

I would imagine that Intel has to be running out of B3 Q6600's sometime soon. How many did they have in inventory before!? I would assume they stopped producing the old stepping (B3) in favor of a new better yield stepping (G0). So they should run out of the old B3 wafers and thus stop having B3 chips sometime in the very near future. At least I would think so!
 
The steppings are usually on the product page. You just have to look at the product #s or whatever.
