newegg refurbished card question

i read the policy;s and it says they do not test them... what are the chances of getting of getting a DOA part... never have dealt with it before

in red lettering it says we are taking a risk... is the risk what i just mentiond above.

Think of all the reasons that someone would return a card, while saying it worked.. One of those things is wrong with it.. poor oc'er, was not what they expected, was incompatible with their system, ordered the wrong part, recieved the wrong part, etc., etc.... you name it.. You are taking a risk.. But sometimes you end up with a hell of deal..

ya.. so im better off not spending the money. i dont have the money to take a "risk" but i would if i had extra money...

Hi i was a bit worry myself when i ordered a refurbished card from newegg. but when i ordered it wow everything was there everything worked like it was new. i think the guy that brought it brought pci-e so he returned it so i got lucky there. but its a risk you gonna have to take for lower prices

I took part in the recent leadtek 6800gt refurb. Got 2 working cards, the DVI port died on one the first day. That one had a sticker on it that suggested it was fixed before. The other is running rock solid. From other posts, seems about half are working. The rest are DOA, artifacts, or other problems. The bad one was RMAed back to newegg for full refund.
