newegg claims that accesories are not included with refurb items, so do cases that use rails come with them? do they come with power supply or fans if the new one does?

They claim that they "might" not come with all accessories. Especailly with items such as cases, the majority (including myself) have had nothing but great luck with NewEgg refurb cases. I purchased the Antec Overture for $64 refurbished w/ free shipping from NewEgg and it came nearly in perfect condition. The retail on it was $99 with $15 shipping. The case had a few finger prints on it, but were easily polished away, and i even got the RMA slip from the "previous" owner who claimed it didn't provide adaquite airflow for his needs. Not really sure what the guy was running, but my P4 1.7 runs extremely cool in the case, had nothing but good lucky with it. Came with ALL accessories, including the screws, manual and even the special polishing cloth that comes with the Overture series ;) . So go for it, i see it as an easy way to get a good case for cheap. If it comes w/ a few scratches, just paint it w/ the money you saved off retail, then you'll have something that you've put a little work into as well

I bought a mATX case from them and it was just a bit banged up. A dent on the top and some dings in the side. However, all accessories including the power suppy were included and were functional.

I didnt care what shape the case was when i ordered it, so it didnt bother me. In the end I got a mATX aluminum case w/power supply for 35.00 shipped.

You can see the dent on the top left and the dings in the side here, nothing major...

I ordered the Antec Sonata... It came with everything.. no scratches... in its original box.. etc... It looks really good and works great.... good antec silent 380watt power supply. No problems on this side...

Every refurb case I've ordered has come with all the accessories intact. The only thing that was missing from a few of them was the original box. In those cases, Newegg packed it with lots of padding...even more than the retail box did in one case.

Ditto, I have ordered three "refurb'd" cases from teh 'Egg. Each one came with everything, one was definately a refurb - the box was pretty beat-up but the case was immaculate - an AMS EG65B - it looked like the person who returned it locked it up on a CMOS issue. I cleared it and upgraded to the newest BIOS and I have a SSF case for around $70 less than new. I also picked up an Ahanix D.vine 5 for around $80 less than new and a Silverstone TJ-03 for about the same off.

I have also ordered power supplies, RAM, Drives (Tons 'o them) with no regrets. If something did not work, I contacted the Manuf. and had them take care of it.

I have saved literally hundreds, if not a couple of thousand, by getting the refurbs.

My problem is that I am a junky for these "deals". I have bought things that I haven't even used yet. (I have a HTPC project that will contain 6 200 to 250 drives - four EIDE and two SATA)

The Amex is a killer at month end, and I can't understand why my company will not let me expense this stuff. :D I am a "Computor Profeshunal" after all. :p

Ordered an Antec Performance Plus or something to that extent.

Was dusty, missing some PCI slot covers, some thumb screws, the case carrying strap, the backplate, and the keys.

Otherwise it was in decent condition. Maybe I'm just the exception.

I bought a refurbished Coolermaster ATC-201 from NewEgg. When I got it the front acrylic door was scratched fairly badly, some of the thumbscrews and screws used to mount the door fitting were missing and it didn't come with any drive bay plates.

I removed the acrylic door (was considering it anyway, and the scratch sealed it's fate) replaced the missing thumbscrews fro about two bucks, and plan on picking up some drive bay covers in the future; they're cheap enough. I glad I was able to get a top of the line case for less than half of it's retail price for my secondary computer.

Just remember what you get is arbitrary. It's going to be a used case that was returned and there's a good chance it's going to be missing a few accessories or be in less than superb condition. There is a chance that it will be just as good as new with everything intact, but that's not something to take for granted and then become upset when that's not what you recieve.
