Why is it when someone posts a link to newegg.com it goes straight to some jdoquoy.com url?

And the new vBulletin mobile app looks hawt guys! Thanks!

Part of the revenue for the forum is derived from referral sales on certain websites. See here for the list:

http://hardforum.com/announcement.php?f=106&a=92

The website you're seeing is part of the process that rewrites the link posted so newegg recognizes it as having originated from hardforum. It's very above board and nothing you need to worry about.

When you do buy things from any of the sites on that list, using those links, or other links you see anywhere on the forum is REALLY appreciated. I know I get a TON of useful info and entertainment here for absolutely nothing, and clicking through on my purchases is a quick and easy way to give a bit back, and doing so costs me absolutely nothing.

Exactly, its pretty easy. I just bought my Phenom 1090 last week and I got to Newegg thru the [H] commissioned buying link. Nothing to it and it helps support the joint and bring in advertisers so Kyle has enough cash to stay liquored up so things like [H]Steve and random "poofs" keep this place exciting. :D

I should have been more specific. When I click on one of those links the page doesn't load when using stock android 2.2 browser.

Yeah, your first post kind of didn't mention anything about that. ;)

I just tried a few different links on the stock browser from a Samsung Intercept w/Froyo and my Evo, and both times they redirected straight to Newegg. What phone/carrier are you using?

Its a VZW Fascinate but it is running the latest Community Rom from XDA so it is probably the rom. It has all the DRM and Ad features removed. Thing is all the regular page ads show up fine so I didn't think that was it. But if it works fine on those it must be it is recognizing it like it does all the ads built into the applications and is probably redirecting them to local host. I always do my shopping on my Pc so in the event of an actual purchase it would still work as intended. Just annoying. I used to be able to click on a newegg link someone posted and now I can't. At least not on the mobile.

Yeah, that's likely the case. If you're able to whitelist, these are the redir's I get when I click the link in the announcement:

jdoquoy.com
apmebf.com
emjcd.com

To the best of my knowledge the forum rewrites every newegg link on it that way, so you'll need to whitelist or somehow disable the filter if you want to click through links here.

Just tried it on my Thunderbolt and it redirects me but gets me to Newegg pretty quick and with the stock browser. Works fine with Opera Mobile too.
