This seems like a pretty hot deal on a huge name brand TV, thinking about buying one myself when my tax return comes in (I filed early). Thoughts?

Fair enough, "hot" is probably an over-exaggeration to be sure. Generally when buying big ticket technology I personally am leery of amazon, but that may just be my mistake.

That is just your mistake. Amazon is a great place to buy TVs from. They have good support after the sale and I've seen fellow AVSForum.com members return multiple TVs for minor defects without issue.

Amazon has even reacted to owner issues in AVS forum threads by sending customers surprise replacements. Can you imagine the look that would be on a person's face?

Of course they'll speak with you afterwards with instructions on how to return the old TV.
