is the phillips a rebranded lite-on? i like lite-on drives but hate phillips... they used to make garbage when they were providing CDRWs for HP, every one i ever saw had to be replaced

Hey what happened to the Sceptre 37" 1080P LCD TV? It says product deactivated :( I was seriously considering it...
 
I have two of those Lite-On's and I do not like them at all.

Ever heard a DC-3 spin up for take off? That's what these drives sound like.

They literally rattle the panels in my Lian-Li V2100 case.

Also, for whatever bizarre reason, they will not read Microsoft supplied application DVD's, such as Action Pack subscriptions. Very strange.

There also seem to be a bunch of different models of the same drive. Mine are the LH-20A1L's, and while other models have had Firmware updates, these have not.

I won't buy them again at any price.
 
BTW... What's up with DL Discs? Are the things ever going to be reasonably priced?

Hi. Can someone point me to a good comparison between Opteron
and Athlon? I have the 4000+ Clawhammer, just got the 2.2 Toledo
combo deal for an upgrade. I looked at the Opterons, but the Hyper
Transport specs were half the Athlons. Can someone un-confuse me?
Should I have gone for the Opteron?
