A few weeks ago I bought a Logitech Freedom 2.4 wireless joystick (not from newegg). After I got it I thought to look at the reviews at newegg. There were several poor reviews of the joystick because of its 2 minute powerdown time. I went back yesterday to add my own review about how much it sux and all the negative reviews were gone! I added a negative review and it has not gotten posted. Does Newegg censor negative reviews of items?

yes i did the same thing with a Radeon 9200 and i am still yet to see my review posted. Either that or it takes a long time to be processed

E-mail them and ask them about it. It would be good to know their policy.

Newegg.com is not a forum for product reviews. For product reviews, we recommend sites such as www.cnet.com, www.anandtech.com, and www.tomshardware.com. Newegg.com is a private site that conducts the business of selling computer hardware and as such, any specifications and information posted by Newegg.com regarding products for sale must be factual. However, customer comments in regards to their experience with said products are the opinions of the user. The customer opinion reviews are used at the discretion of Newegg.com as a marketing device for positive and constructive ways to share the benefit of the product. It is not used as a source for negative commentary as we cannot endorse the validity of any negative comment. Therefore, the Newegg.com site is moderated to remove any unproven biased negative comments. It is not the intention of Newegg.com to mislead any customer and therefore before proceeding you are required to click on the "I ACCEPT" button to confirm you have read the above statement and agree to its terms. Furthermore, you agree to release Newegg.com from any liability for any statements posted or removed from posting.

hehe, I sort of flamed newegg on one of my reviews on the game Call of Duty. The box they sent me was bashed up and the CD case was messed up (the CD was fine though). FEDEX couldn't have done that, unless they ran it over with the truck, but all my other items were okay. So I'd say yes, they certainly do censor peoples' reviews.

A couple of years ago I purchased the Yamaha 5.1 surrounds and Newegg posted Yamaha's $ 30.00 rebate offer at time of check-out. And all you needed was to cut the UPC code from the box and mail it in. Fine. It arrives in good time and fashion.
The Yamaha box was pretty big, and therefor the UPC code I needed to cut-off the box to send for my rebate was pretty big too! Problem was that Newegg stuck thier nice, big, sticky, shipping tag, right over the UPC code I needed! Any attempt to carefully remove that sticker naturally destroyed the UPC code underneath.
I called them on the phone as I was fairly Pissed. ( I mean of all the stupid things to do!) And though I was most polite to the person I spoke with, since I don't believe in shooting the messenger, I was basically told to "suck wind." Though it was tempting to write a "customer service review" on thier review site, I opted not to bother. Which was wise as; I sincerely doubt it would have been posted.
Obviously, I never got that $30.00 rebate!

I have spent possibly $2,000 or more from Newegg in the years since that episode, as I try to practice forgiveness....(and that usually means people walk all over me. :p) But it's a basically good place and good store.

Though it's scary to read the "groupie like" accolades in those reviews lately. It reminds me of reading old news articles about "Jim Jones" and fanatic followers or something. It's positively creepy!

Never heard back from NewEgg regarding this

Mod Edit - Not really a "General [H]ardware" topic, folks......djnes got it right:
