I'm a newbie to installing CPUs. I recently replaced my motherboard, and installed the CPU on it myself. It's working so far, but I was wondering what you folks use to give the CPU a workout and make sure it can run full throttle for extended periods of time. Thanks for any help. Byron.

reignor,

go to this page

Prime95

download prime95 and run the 2nd test. It'll give ur pc a good work out.

Thanks, RollerX. I'd heard about GIMPS, but didn't know that's how it worked. Is there perhaps one that would give my CPU *and* my GPU (Radeon AIW 9800 Pro) a good workout? Thanks for any help. Byron.

Well, if you want to work out both your GPU and CPU, you can run the 3dmark series. you can find them Here. 3dmark01 seems to be the standard for burn-in's. If you really want, you can run both at the same time, just start prime95 first then start 3dmark for maximum torture on your cpu, memory, and graphic systems.
