Hi Guys,

I just upgraded my PC from P4 2G to P4 3G with an Intel D865PERL MoBo. After having completed the installation, I'm faced with 3 problems that I hope you guys can help me out with:-

1) After upgrading, the new P43G CPU is hot!! It is much hotter than the P42G one. I will be installing a temp monitor utility tonight but, is this normal? Pls share your experience.

2) One of the files Nvcpl.dll was not found when after I repaired my XP equipped HD. What is this file for? Is there any way of resolving the problem without re-installing?

3) After upgrading, some of the USB controller ports were not recognized. I put in the driver and MoBo CD form intel but no drivers were present. Which driver file should I be looking for?
Is it really the USB driver problem or due to another source.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hot is ok. I mean if you stick your hand in there, and put your finger on the heatsink, you may jerk your hand back. However, of course, too hot is bad. But there is no way to tell without a cpu temp monitor. My guess is that, as long as all of your settings are correct for that CPU, and it is not overclocked, you are just fine. Probably a good temp is the mid 30 C's, and a bad one, not on load, is low 50 C's.

NVCPL.DLL - NVIDIA display properties extension

Sounds like something with your video card drivers. I'd try reinstalling your video card drivers.

Are you sure your usb ports arn't working? Did you check device manager? If I was you I would install your mobo drivers.

Watch for things like random reboots. Once you get the the drivers and the .dll fixed, prime95 your system over night, or if not then just let it run all night. If it makes it to the morning without any errors or reboots I'm going to guess everyhting is peachy :)

Riptid3, Thanks a lot mate!

Your timely advice is most appreciated and will probably go a long way to resolving some of the teething residual issues I'm facing with my upgrade.

I will post the outcome of my fixes tomorrow.

My shout (treat) at the pub if you are ever down these neck of the woods!!

:D :D

Heh. Bah, I'd rather go to New Zealand, those guys are tougher :D (I run and hide now)

Somone alot smarter than me will reply with more help, but any other details you add will be helpful.

Also be sure to check in the mobo's bios to make sure the USB voltage is correct and also to make sure they are even enabled
