Newbie question on CF setup

Thanks :) I was reading online there were instances where connecting it to the "slave" card (bottom one in this case) could actually balance temperatures so I got confused.
 
top or bottom doesn't matter unless your motherboard requires you to plug it into the primary card to see the post screen.

it wont really balance temps since the 6900 series is suppose to shut off what ever card isnt being used while in crossfire. so what ever you connect the monitor to should be the card running, thus the hotter card. the reason people come up with that assumption is due to windows aero which is gpu accelerated but your talking about a 2-3C difference between the non display and display card when sitting at your desktop, nothing to really worry about.
