I am going to buy a Intel Core Duo 2 E4400 CPU along with a Gigabyte 945GZM-S2 mobo.

I want to overclock the CPU, but I am an extreme noob to overclock, so any help along the way will be greatly appreciated. :)

-------

While we wait for the CPU to come.......

I also need a CPU cooler to go along with my overclocking, so if you have any CPU coolers that are for dirty cheap, please let me know.

BTW, take a look at this...

A E4400 can beat a E6320! :D

Also, does the thermal paste come along in the box of the CPU, or do I have to go out and buy some?

First you should consider a different mobo, for example a gigabyte P965-DS3 if you want to keep it cheap. An Intel 945 chipset is way too old and next to a mobo upgrade, you`ll probably need a new cooler if you want to take the max out of your CPU, almost anything is better than the stock cooler. If you use the stock cooler you won't need thermal paste.

The Arctic Freezer Pro 775 is probably the cheapest cooler with a solid temperature drop.

what Species suggested is good $99 free shipping at the moment (plus a lot of people get very nice OC on those boards)

plus if you seriously want to OC never ever get an ECS those motherboards are not meant to overclock they run decent at stock settings but were not designed to OC.

Alright...thanks for the info/tip species and etjr! :) I now decided to get the P965-DS3. :)

Now for the cooler...
