Newbie needs help with first build

So I finally venture into building my first cpu. I installed everything and everything seems to work. What I'm worried about is that every time I start my cpu, the first thing that shows up on the screen is the abit logo (the truck) asking to hit tab to post or delete to go into the bios. If you just leave it alone for 2 seconds, it goes to show a list of items. I'm guessing this is the post?

Then the windows xp logo shows up and proceeds to normal operation.

Parts for the build are:
Abit IP35 Pro
Q6600
2gig cruical ballistix
thermalright 120 extreme
evga 8800 gts 320mb
antec 900 case

General Hardware

(You don't seem to have any problems. Your computer turns on, shows the motherboard logo (perfectly normal and routine), boots, and goes into Windows.)
 
Hi freeone, welcome to the [H].

As GJSNeptune points out, this is a subforum concerning the forum's operation, and your question will probably be moved to the General Hardware subforum by a mod sometime today... fret not, this is a common mistake.

As for your concern, that's a completely normal POST (Power On Self-Test) and nothing to worry about. If it bothers you, most BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) menus feature an option to turn off the logo (and/or "Quick Boot"), like lov3rboy408 mentioned.
