If I remove my current memory module in favor of a new and larger capacity module, will I lose all saved data on my computer? How does that work?

No, you will not lose your data, all of which is stored on your Hard Drive.

Just make sure you get RAM that is compatible with your motherboard.

hey you forgot to mention to watch out for gremlins that are hiding in his power supply.

yea dude, if you shake your PC too much, you wake them up and they start gnawing on shit. its mad bad mojo man.

Total bs. Just don't open up your psu without knowing what to stay away from. I did it to a smaller 150 watt one that hadn't been used in forever, and it still shocked the hell out of me. Can't imagine what newer ones will do, although they apparently can kill.

hahaha, you guys are mean.
though qwerty brings up a good point. when you swap out the ram, make sure you unplug the psu to kill all power going to the system.
