Newbie Help > P4 on Gateway case?

Hi,

I'm building my own system. I bought ATX "Supercases TU-124" case. And I also have old Gateway 2000 too. Is it possible to install Abit Mobo P4 mobo in Gateway case?

The power supply on Gateway is 200W so i'm considering adding at least 350W.

Should I keep the new case or the Gateway one?
 
it may take a little work...

if you have the mobo, and you have the case, just line it up and see if it fits, and if the standoffs are where they need to be, if it fits but the standoffs are in a difrent place, then you just have to add standoffs.

buy them or strip them from another case, drill little holes, and screw them in.

that 200W psu has got to go, but i wouldnt just toss it, if your carful you can just open it up, and solder a lind from the green wire going to the mobo to a swich and back to a ground, then you can use that psu as a tester (flip the swich and you can power things with the mobo off, or without a mobo at all, and with the swich on you can use it as a normal psu.

if you like the case and think you can mod it, go for it, good luck and have fun.

I'm just trying to see if the new mobo and psu would work in old Gateway case. Originally i was going to upgrade my Dell system from P3 to P4 but people suggesting me to build a system from scratch. Because Dell has "Proprietary specially pinned PSUs etc" and it is hard to change it.

I was wondering the Gateway is same as Dell?
