Been trying to google this (and I'm still trying) but was just hoping to get a summary of what I'm trying to find out while I keep looking...
What exactly is PATA and more specifically, what can it run on?
It seems like it's been around for a while but I never saw mention of it until I just noticed a 300 gig HD with 16 MB cache and using ATA/133. Previously I had thought the largest affordable cache using ATA was just 8 MB (Raptors were higher priced).
But the meat of my question is: Can I use a PATA drive on my old computer w/ only old-school ATA/133 capabilities? or is it a different standard/controller like SATA?
