Hi, I was wondering:

Does overclocking the CPU reduce the bottleneck on a GPU?

For example say I had a medium ranged processor and a high end graphic card.
Would overclocking the CPU allow the GPU to do more?

Yeah it will help reduce bottlenecking. The question is if you are bottlenecked in the first place.

Overclocking increases the data rate across the entire front side bus. Unless you deliberately change (and are capable of changing) the agp or pci speed separately... and advantageously relative to overall FSB... I don't see how overclocking would remove a bottleneck.

If you have a 3000+ and a 7800GTX, OCing it to lets say 2.6-2.8GHz would help the GTX out a lot. But you better be prepared for some good cooling! :D
