I have 2 Raptors (74gig, 10k rpm)

I havn't used them in raid yet.. and I've had them for awhile. I just got a new external hdd.. so now i can put both in raid.

Now uh.. how do I do this? lol I have a Abit IC7 Max3 mobo and those 2 hdds..

HELP! :|

Are you talking putting an internal drive in a raid array with an external? That's just a bad idea if so. Too many ways for things to go wrong. You also need to research what you want the raid for, and which raid level you want. You need to check out this link.

Im talking about putting 2 WD Raptors in raid..

That link though really doesn't tell me how to do it

First off, you probably don't need it. The speed increase (when there even is one) is minimal. Then again, half the people on these forums don't "NEED" the things they ask about. Myself included!

With that being said, I'd open up your bios. There should be an option to enable the onboard RAID. Once that's enabled, watch your computer closely when it boots. There may be a key combination to press to get into the RAID setup mode. It should be pretty easy from here on out.

Also, a note, if I may. The onboard RAID on most motherboards only supports RAID 0 and RAID 1 (And JBOD, for whatever that's worth) - If you want RAID 5 (Impossible with two drives, requires at least three), you will most likely need to purchase a controller card.
