I'm going to be building a new system soon and would prefer it to be an Intel Quad core based. I do lots of gaming, graphical arts, and programming so absolute system power is needed here. I'm trying to keep the cost of the mobo down to around $250 so I can spend on the Q6600 and a set of 2x2gb G-Skill 1000DDR2 memory for the machine. I have the rest of the computer already, just need the core components for now. So can you guys help me out here in picking out the latest and greatest for my New Year's Resolution?

Much Obliged :)

So basically do the work for you ;) :-P

Mobo:
P35 Board - Gigabyte DS4 or the DFI P35 Dark Series
Cooler - Air - Thermalright extreme 120 Water - custom build your own
Hard Drive - WD Raptor 10,000 150GB (noisy but fast) or Seagate 500GB SATA2 (3.0)
Graphics: 8800GTS 512 or 8800ULTRA
PSU: anything over 500-600 will run your rig and toast bread
CASE: Lian Li if you want to splurge or Antec if you don't mind a little weight
DVD-Burner: Lite-on (reliable but noisy) Samsung (quite)

Im sure there will be variations to this.

I should have mentioned this in my first thread but here are the parts I already have.

PSU: Ultra 1600w X3
HDD's: Twin 74GB Raptor 10k HDD's and 1 750 7.2k WD (for storage)
Cooler: Coolit Freezone water cooler (gets my already hot X-2 3800(2.8GHz) down to 15C at load)
DVD: 1 Samsung DVDRW drive and 1 Sony Blue Ray drive(reader only)
Case: Thermaltake Armour (Black w/UV lighting) and too many fans to count. lol

As for the vid cards, I will get a new set as soon as Q208 comes around, I think everyone here knows why.

I'd recommend the Western Digital equivalent of the 500GB, I've found that the "WD5000AAKS" model from WD are quiet a bit quieter then the Seagate and also, I believe higher performance too.
