Hey... i currently have an IBM T40, but I want to build a desktop as well at school. I'm trying to make it as cheap as possible... but still good and expandable. I'm thinking about getting a 2400+ thoroughbred and i'm not sure what motherboard to get... maybe an epox, abit, or asus - what are your recommendations? It would be cool if it had sata, though that doesn't matter, and LAN.

What kind of memory is good these days? thanks... any tips on keeping the price down would be good.

Video: Sapphire 9800 pro
RAM: 1GB Mushkin Level 1
 
I wouldnt bother withthe xp2400+, for just a little more you can get a mobile 2400+/2500+/moile 2500+ which would overclock very well and that extra cache should make a difference.
