New X58 Sabertooth build...

I just replaced a bad P7 Deluxe motherboard with an X58 Sabertooth and decided to swap out the old G1 Intsl SSD's for a new Intel 510.

I have the SSD connected to the Marvell controller to take advantage of SATA 3. However, upon boot up I noticed that the Marvell controller is running on a PCI bus with 5gps limitation... Is there a way to boost this as I would like to get the full potential out of the new SSD?

If not, any suggestions for an addon card?

Thanks

I use the asus usb 3.0/sata 6 card in the rig in my sig and its speeds are pretty close to what specs should be...these cards are hard to find now tho...covers me both ways for the new tech on my dfi board....from what ive read and seen it seems to me all the add on cards perform about the same as most use the same chipsets...

It's been noted that the Marvell controller that the X58 boards use is buggy and doesn't really work as well as the native SATA III controller on the P67 boards.

yea u r correct sir...they mostly suck..thats why im going to use a controller card...better than upgrading the board..il see which chipset performs the beat ..i see the 9128 marvell seems to do well..
i have a x4 slot ready...why upgrade the board when what you buy sucks for performance..probubly would do better with an add on card...with the latest chipset....

The trouble is add-in storage controllers seem to follow a somewhat bimodal distribution. You get the "desktop" controllers that typically only have an x1 interface (which afaict isn't really enough for sata 6G, especially if the interface is only PCIe 1.0) and the "server" controllers that are bloody expensive but there doesn't seem to be much in between.
