It was actually warm(ish) out today so I decided to go out and try to take some shots. Here are some that I came up with. I used my 300D + 70-200 f4L

Thanks guys. I'm gonna try out this place called shutterstock.com and see if i can somehow make some money off my pictures. Wish me luck. :D

Nice shots, I am saving up for the 2.8L version of that lens...

Nice shots. One tip I might throw out is to try experimenting with where you place the subject in your pictures. Rather than placing the subject in the center, try experimenting with the rule of thirds and see what you come up with.

Very great shots. I'm a fan of that moon shot, but I would say try putting it at perhaps the top. Try out different placements like a previous post said.

Thanks for the advice guys, I forgot about the 1/3's system. Seems like that would make the hawk shots a lot better. I will try this next time I'm out/editing. :)

i really like the first picture of the finch?(little bird)
i liked these next two alot as well the picture of the moon and the birds against the sunset.

deff pictures i would be proud of.

LOL at the first bird photo... DOF anyone? lol. :D

/laughing with, not at :)

Yeah, I actually went outside to get something out of my car when I walked by the bird, and it did not fly away despite me being about 10 ft. away. I went inside and grabbed my 70-200mm lens to see if it would stay still, which it did. After some shots with that I went in and put on my 50mm with some macro lenses on top (+6 I think). I was able to get probbably 4-6in. from it, and it only flew away after i picked my head up from the camera and startled it. I don't think this bird was the first to hatch one might say haha. :p

100% crop + usm of the bird's eye

Those are oak trees from up here in Northern California. That's what all the trees are around here, go a little east and they all turn into pine trees and ever greens.

I believe those are Live Oaks.

I love the photo of the Hawk in flight.
